Our Membership Expectations

Membership is a mutual commitment to follow Jesus and participate in the life and mission of the church.

Members Commit To:

Follow Jesus Christ

Profess faith in Jesus Christ and demonstrate a willingness to repent, learn, and grow.

Pursue Baptism and Foundational Teaching

Be baptized following a profession of faith, or prepare to take that step, and complete the ACTS membership orientation.

Embrace ACTS’ Faith and Mission

Understand and affirm the church’s statement of faith, vision, and values.

Grow Spiritually

Develop a life of prayer, Scripture reading, worship, and fellowship, and participate in discipleship opportunities appropriate to their stage of growth.

Participate Consistently

Make gathering with the church a priority, according to their circumstances and ability, and communicate when support is needed.

Walk in Love and Unity

Avoid gossip, address disagreements respectfully, seek reconciliation, and raise concerns through appropriate channels.

Receive and Practise Accountability

Remain open to biblical encouragement and correction while retaining freedom to ask questions and report concerns safely.

Serve According to Gifts and Capacity

Contribute to church life as they are equipped and able. Some ministry roles require training, screening, or additional qualifications.

Give Willingly and Responsibly

Support the work of the ministry through generous giving as they are able. Giving must be voluntary, and financial circumstances do not determine a person’s worth or belonging.

Care for Others and Share Their Faith

Encourage others, care for those in need, and participate in reaching people with the gospel.

ACTS Commits To:

  • Teach the Word of God faithfully.
  • Provide opportunities for worship, prayer, discipleship, and service.
  • Offer pastoral care and appropriate referrals when needed.
  • Help members discover and develop their gifts.
  • Foster a welcoming environment with clear safeguards.
  • Handle concerns fairly and respectfully.
  • Care for members through difficult seasons.
  • Equip believers to fulfil their calling.

Our Membership Affirmation

Having received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, I willingly commit to grow with the ACTS church family. I affirm its statement of faith and embrace its vision and values. By God’s grace, I will pursue spiritual growth, walk in love, contribute as I am able, receive biblical guidance, and help fulfil the mission of reaching people and making disciples.

Together, we seek to prepare the way of the Lord—reaching people, forming disciples, equipping workers, and sending them to serve.
