Foreword

Twenty-seven years ago, I experienced a radical salvation in my car, and I wish I had a booklet or guide to help me navigate my new journey with Christ.

I've noticed that when you start a new job or begin school, there's typically an orientation to help you understand the organization or the environment. However, when I was saved, I realized there was very little available to guide me through this new life in Christ. That’s when I decided to write a pamphlet called "Salvation: Easy as 123." Unfortunately, it never made it to print, and it ended up sitting among my journals.

After a few years, the Lord prompted me to revisit and revise it, and so I renamed it "Radical Love: God’s Manifested Love Towards Humanity." My prayer is that this booklet will help you in your new life and your growing relationship with Jesus Christ. As you read, may you gain a clearer understanding of what it truly means to be saved.

The Bible speaks of three types of people who heard the teachings of Jesus and received salvation, but only one truly remained committed (Matthew 13). My prayer is that you will be the one who remains steadfast, and that you will also rise up to help raise the next generation.

God bless you as you embark on this beautiful journey with Christ. This is the best decision you’ve made. Well done!

Born Again

Congratulations! What a wonderful day this is in your life. You’ve made the best decision anyone could ever make. You have been born again, and you are saved!

Born Again: To become a new person through God’s Spirit, working within you.

In John 3, Jesus explains this in more detail to Nicodemus, a respected and influential religious leader in Israel:

"Jesus answered him, 'I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person is born again (anew, from above), he cannot ever see (know, be acquainted with, and experience) the kingdom of God.'" — John 3:3 AMPC

This means you’ve experienced a spiritual birth from heaven. While you may look the same on the outside, on the inside, you are a completely new creation. Your spirit, once dead to God, is now alive in Him. The Bible says,

"And you [He made alive], when you were dead (slain) by [your] trespasses and sins..." — Ephesians 2:1 AMPC

This transformation happens when you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and in your heart, you believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead. The Bible promises, "you will be saved." — Romans 10:9 AMPC

Just as a man and woman become husband and wife when they openly confess their vows to one another, you become born again and saved when you sincerely confess from your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord. In doing so, you are now His bride and a child of God.

Saved

Saved: To be rescued from danger or harm.

When Jesus Christ saved you, He rescued you from being eternally separated from God and from the total destruction of your life, purpose, and destiny.

The Bible says,

"He rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us safely into the kingdom of His dear Son, by whom we are set free, that is, our sins are forgiven." — Colossians 1:13-14 GNTD

To be saved is the purest demonstration of God's amazing love and grace. Salvation is God's free gift to all of humanity—available to anyone who will accept it. We are all saved by grace.

Grace

Grace: Unearned, undeserved favour.

God’s unearned and undeserved favour means that, despite our shortcomings, He extended His love to us in a way we could never earn or deserve.

The Bible says,

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not die but have eternal life." — John 3:16 GNTD

Before coming to Christ, we all lived in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the evil spirits that controlled the world.

"Everyone lived that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of their sinful nature." — Ephesians 2:3 GNTD

Yet, God’s mercy is so abundant, and His love for us so great, that while we were spiritually dead in our disobedience, He brought us to life with Christ. It is by God’s grace that we have been saved. He did this to show the extraordinary greatness of His grace, revealed through the love He demonstrated to us in Christ Jesus.

"For it is by God's grace that you have been saved through faith. And this is not from yourselves; it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." — Ephesians 2:8-9 GNTD

Being born again, saved, and having access to grace is not about the good things we have done, but about what He did for us on the cross. Jesus told us that "there is none good except God alone," because all have sinned and fallen short of God's glorious standard. Grace is God’s passionate love in action, poured out for all humanity.

The Benefits

Benefit: An advantage or profit gained from something.

People often seek jobs with great benefits. Even professional athletes play for teams that offer the best benefits. However, the benefits of being born again far surpass anything the world can offer.

Some of the Benefits of Being Born Again are:

I. Divine Relationship

Relationship is the way in which two or more people are connected.

The Bible tells us:

"The Spirit that God has given you does not make you slaves, causing you to be afraid; instead, the Spirit makes you God's children, and by the Spirit's power we cry out to God, 'Father! My Father!' God's Spirit joins Himself to our spirits to declare that we are God's children. Since we are His children, we will possess the blessings He keeps for His people." — Romans 8:15-17 GNTD

This means that God is your Father, and He will take very good care of you. You will never be rejected, but always accepted.

You now have a divine connection with the Creator of the universe. He’s not just the “man upstairs,” or “the universe,” or simply God. As the Bible says, “I will be his Father, and he will be…” — 2 Samuel 7:14 (continuing in the passage, emphasizing the depth of this relationship).

Family

Family: A group consisting of parents and children living together in a household.

When you are born again, God not only becomes your Father, but He also promises to place the lonely in families. He will bless you with the spouse and children you desire, as well as spiritual families to support you on your journey of faith.

The Bible says,

"God is a Father to the fatherless, a defender of widows. He places the lonely in families; He sets the prisoners free and gives them joy." — Psalm 68:5-6 NLT

In the beginning, the Bible also tells us,

"The Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While he slept, the Lord God took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the opening. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib and brought her to the man. 'At last!' the man exclaimed. 'This one is bone from my bone and flesh from my flesh! She will be called "woman," because she was taken from "man."' — Genesis 2:21-23 NLT

And it is written,

"Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him." — Psalm 127:3 NLT

God cares deeply about every detail of our lives. Marriage is His idea, and children are His idea. He desires for us to live an abundant life, overflowing with every good gift He has in store for us in this life.

Peace

Peace: Freedom from disturbance; nothing lacking, nothing broken; wholeness, serenity, rest, quiet, and tranquillity.

Peace is one of the greatest gifts, second only to love. So many people today are in distress, battling depression, and even struggling with suicidal thoughts. I believe the antidote for depression is God’s peace.

Years ago, when I couldn’t find any peace, the Lord gave me this acronym for P.E.A.C.E:

Penetrating Evil and Creating Easement.

The Bible tells us that Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Jesus Himself said:

"I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid." — John 14:27 NLT

Jesus also reminds us:

"Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world." — John 16:33 NLT

When you are born again, you are instantly made right with God through faith. You now have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ did for you. This means you can approach God freely, without guilt, shame, fear, or feelings of unworthiness. The peace of God has entered your heart.

Healing

Healing: The process of making or becoming sound or healthy again.

In other words, healing means being made well from sickness or disease.

Sickness is not from God. God hates sickness and disease. Every sickness is of the devil, but healing is from God.

The Bible says:

"…how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him." — Acts 10:38 NKJV

When Jesus walked the earth, it is recorded that:

"He travelled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And He healed every kind of disease and illness. News about Him spread as far as Syria, and people soon began bringing to Him all who were sick. And whatever their sickness or disease, or if they were demon-possessed, epileptic, or paralyzed—He healed them all." — Matthew 4:23-24 NLT

Sickness is the oppression of the devil, but Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection broke that oppression. You now have access to health and wholeness, and the authority to speak healing over yourself in Jesus' name. If you are sick in your body, you can be healed. Healing is your birthright, your inheritance. You can command healing—healing for your body and soul.

Jesus then is Jesus now! I declare: Be healed right now in the name of Jesus!

Deliverance

Deliverance: The action of being set free or rescued.

Everyone, at some point, needs deliverance. Everyone needs to be delivered from the influence of the devil.

Jesus is our Deliverer. He alone has the power to rescue us from the evil one. The Bible tells us that those who are not born again are held captive by the devil, doing whatever he wants. But Jesus wants them to come to their senses and escape the snare of Satan, who has taken them captive to do his will.

Thanks be to God who sent Jesus, who boldly declared:

"The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty (deliverance) to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound." — Isaiah 61:1 NKJV

Jesus came to destroy the powers of the devil. You do not need to fear the devil. One of the most important truths you need to understand is that the devil is defeated, and the greater and more powerful One now lives in you—His name is JESUS.

You can now stop, rebuke, and reject the devil, and he has to flee from you in terror. You now have power over the things that once had power over you. Hallelujah!

Declare with me: "I am free! I am delivered! Praise the Lord, no more chains holding me! In Jesus' name!"

One of my favourite scripture verses is Luke 10:17-19, which says:

"I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

When you are born again, you are given the power to bring deliverance to yourself. You have authority over the things that used to rule you. You have power and authority over all the powers of the enemy—so use it in Jesus' name!

Prosperity

Prosperity: a successful, flourishing or thriving condition. This is not just limited to finances, but all areas of life.

The opposite of prosperity is poverty that denotes serious lack of the means for proper existence. This word literally implies a state of having absolutely none of the necessities of life, where people’s basic needs for food, clothing and shelter are not met. This is clearly not the will of God for humanity.

Prosperity is the will of God. God wants us to prosper. The Bible says “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” III John 1:2 NKJV. This scripture clearly confirms that God wants us to prosper in ALL THINGS .

There are three areas of our lives that God desires for us to be prosperous.

Financial prosperity.

The Bible tells us that it is God who gives us the power, skill , ability and creativity to get wealth. God also takes great pleasure in the prosperity of his people. Jesus became poor so you and I can become rich. Poverty and lack do not give God pleasure.

Soul Prosperity.

Our soul is our unseen parts and can be the most unstable and complicated. Our soul is the seat of our emotions. It is our feeler, thinker and decider. It is your psychological part composed of your mind, will, and emotion. It is the part of your inner being created by God for the purpose of reflecting and expressing Him.

Our soul is like a magnet that collects all things. The good, the bad and the ugly. Our soul is also like a storage bank that stores memories.

Most hurt, pain, anger, hate, rejection, grief, hopelessness, helplessness, depression, sickness, sadness, trauma, bitterness and unforgiveness is stored in our souls. Sadly most people live and make decisions from their soul.

A soul that is not born again is a poor soul. When you become born again you can loose all negativity from your soul, and bind to your soul prosperity; which includes joy, love, peace, happiness, life, light, health, acceptance and so forth.

For example you can pray this simple prayer: I take authority over all authority and powers of the enemy that is influencing my soul negatively, and I choose as an act of my will to loose from my soul all sickness, depression, sadness, suicidal thoughts, unforgiveness, bitterness etc. and I bind to my soul healing, love, joy… and so forth. I recommend you do this daily and watch to see how your soul will start to flourish.

When your soul prospers you will prosper, for whoever owns your soul owns your body. God wants us to be mentally strong.

Physical Prosperity

Our physical being is our body. God wants us to be physically fit. God is not against us working out and looking healthy but He wants us to have a healthy balance. The Message bible breaks it down like this “8 Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God (that lead to prosperity) is far more so, making you fit (prosperous) both today and forever. 1 Timothy 4:8

Our Body was created to be the house of God where God’s Spirit lives, not sickness or demons. Our bodies were created to glorify God.

The bible tells us that, “13 the body is not for sexual immorality and sickness but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body And that your bodies are members of Christ, it is also the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:13 NKJV

Sickness, diseases, and sexual immorality in the body lead to physical poverty and deprivation.

It is the will of God for you to prosper physically.

Angelic Protection

Protect: To keep safe from harm or injury.

God promises that because you have accepted Him into your life and put your trust in Him, He is obligated to keep you safe from all harm. The Bible says:

"Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; for He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone." — Psalm 91:9-12 NKJV

Not only does God promise protection through His angels, but He also declares:

"No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn." — Isaiah 54:17

This means that no sickness, disease, slander, or gossip sent to destroy you will prevail. God is committed to your protection.

Angels are God’s mighty army who dwell in heaven and are sent to protect us. The Bible tells us that we all have angels assigned to us, and these angels are ready to be dispatched to destroy the works of the devil.

Psalm 103:20 reinforces this truth:

"Bless the Lord, you His angels, you mighty ones who do His bidding, who obey His word." — Psalm 103:20 NIV

We don’t pray to angels, but we can command them in the name of Jesus to carry out God’s will. It’s simple. You can say:

"I take authority and power over all the authority and power of the enemy causing sickness, depression (or whatever is attacking you), and I command the mighty angelic hosts to go NOW! Smash, dash, trash, and drive into dry places and outer darkness all the powers and forces of hell, in Jesus' name!"

I do this all the time, and it works! I even send angels with my children when they go out, declaring that they are surrounded and protected by God’s mighty angels.

God Almighty promises to protect us, and He commands His mighty angels to watch over us. He truly keeps us from all evil.

Eternal Life

Eternal Life: A never-ending life with God.

Eternal life is more than just living forever, whether in heaven or hell. The word “life” in the Bible is the Greek word zoe, which refers to the very life of God. In Genesis 2:7, we read:

"The Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul."

This shows that life itself is contingent upon the continuing, sustaining breath of God.

God desires for us to experience eternal life here on earth—a life that is sustained by Him. Eternal life is not just about living forever; it is knowing God intimately through Jesus Christ, experiencing a life that is full and overflowing. It is a life free of depression, hopelessness, strife, rejection, and poverty—a life of joy, health, prosperity, creativity, and strong relationships. A life of fulfilment and peace.

Eternal life is possible through Jesus Christ.

We are spirit, we live in a body, and we have a soul. Our spirit and soul will return to God, while our bodies decay in the grave. The truth is that every person who has ever lived will continue to exist in spirit form. We are created to live forever, with or without God, depending on the choice we make.

Eternal life is knowing the Father and Jesus Christ, whom He sent. Jesus explained this in John 3:15-17:

"That whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."

When you are born again, God breathes His life into you, and your spirit comes alive. This is how we begin to live forever. We never truly die; we simply transition into heaven where we will live forever in the presence of God.

A person who is not born again does not have eternal life. God has given us eternal life, and this life is found in His Son. As 1 John 5:11-12 states:

"God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life."

The apostle John sums it up in John 17:3:

"This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent."

Eternal life is not just a future promise; it is a present reality when we know Jesus and live in relationship with Him. It is life that never ends and is filled with His presence, joy, and peace, beginning now and continuing forever.

The Cost

Cost: The price or payment of something.

Believe it or not, there is a cost to being a Christian. This cost is not monetary; it involves relationships—friends, family, and associations. When you choose to follow Christ, people may start to treat you differently because you no longer have an appetite for sin. Many may be offended by your new life in Christ, but you must know that God will see you through.

When I first got saved, all of my friends deserted me, and some family members rejected and abandoned me. But God never left me. Twenty-eight years later, I’m more on fire for God than ever, touching lives and making a difference in the Kingdom. God will do the same for you if you never give up.

The Bible tells us in Isaiah 59:15:

"Whoever turns from evil makes himself a prey." In other words, when you choose to walk away from sin, you’ll face opposition. Jesus also warned us in Matthew 10:36-39:

"A man's enemies will be those of his own household. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it."

This passage reminds us that following Christ may lead to difficult choices, even within our own families. But we are assured that God’s call is greater than any earthly relationship.

Matthew 19:29 also gives us hope:

"Everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for My name's sake, will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life."

Jesus is not calling us to hate our families. Rather, He is teaching us that our love for Him must come first. If we love and honour family more than God, we risk compromising our faith to please them, rather than pleasing God.

The reward for living for Christ is priceless. Nothing and no one in this world can compare to the joy, peace, and eternal life He promises. The cost may be high, but the reward is beyond measure.

Expectations

As a New Christian, You Are Expected To:

1. Share with Others

Sharing what has happened to you is one of the clearest signs that something significant has taken place in your life. After Jesus encountered the woman at the well, she immediately went to tell others:

"The woman then left her water pot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, 'Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?' Then they went out of the city and came to Him."

— John 4:28-30 NKJV

Your testimony is a powerful witness of what God has done in your life. Telling others about your experience is a way to shine the light of Christ. Jesus instructed the man He healed from demon possession:

"Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you."

— Luke 8:39 NKJV

When I first got saved, I was out on the streets every day sharing God’s mercy, and I continue to do so. You cannot hide your light—you must share it with others. Find someone and tell them all the good things God has done for you!

2. Be a Disciple

A disciple is a student—a person who learns and applies the teachings of Jesus Christ. Just as students go to school to learn subjects that equip them to contribute to society, being a disciple of Jesus means you are learning to make a difference in the world by advancing His Kingdom.

Jesus didn’t come only to save us, but to make us His disciples, who in turn will disciple others. He said:

"If you continue in My word, then you are truly My disciples. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

— John 8:31-32 NKJV

Being faithful to His teachings is what makes you a true disciple. As you grow in the knowledge of Jesus, you will begin to walk more like Him, think like Him, and live like Him.

3. Make Disciples

Jesus didn’t just want us to be disciples; He wanted us to make disciples. He wants us to teach others what He has taught us and to help them grow in their faith. We are to reproduce ourselves—multiplying the Kingdom of God by spreading His love, kindness, forgiveness, and grace.

Jesus’ command to His disciples was clear:

"All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

— Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV

These are the final instructions Jesus gave before He ascended into Heaven. His last words are precious and should be taken seriously. As a new Christian, you are called to share the Gospel, become a disciple, and make disciples.

Jesus also told His disciples:

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

— Acts 1:8 NKJV

This is the purpose of being born again. It’s about knowing Jesus and making Him known to the world. It’s about advancing His Kingdom on earth.

Conclusion

Being saved and being a Christian is more than just personal transformation; it’s about sharing that transformation with others. It’s about living out your faith and helping others experience the same love, grace, and freedom that you have received. Remember, as a disciple of Jesus, you are called to make more disciples—multiplying the impact of God’s Kingdom and bringing the light of Christ to the world.

Purpose

Purpose: The Reason for Our Existence

Purpose means intentionality. It refers to the reason for which something is done, created, or exists. And we exist for a purpose.

God's original purpose for humanity was established from the very beginning. In Genesis, God said:

"Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground."

So, God created human beings in His own image; in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.

"Then God blessed them and said, 'Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.'"

— Genesis 1:26-28 NLT

God’s original intent was clear: we were created to reign and rule on the earth, to govern and care for all of creation. Our purpose was to live in harmony with God, overseeing the world He made, filling the earth with His glory.

The True Purpose of Life

Our purpose on earth is far greater than merely being born, growing up, getting married, working, paying bills, and eventually dying. We were created for more than this. We were created to rule and reign with God, and to make the earth the most flourishing and beautiful place to live—reflecting the glory of our Creator.

However, sin interrupted God's perfect plan. Through the fall of man, we lost the fullness of that purpose. But God, in His mercy, did not allow sin to permanently derail His plan. To restore humanity to its original purpose, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem us and bring us back into right relationship with Him. Jesus' sacrifice and resurrection opened the door for us to live unto God again.

Living with Purpose After Being Born Again

Before you were born again, you were simply existing—living without understanding the deeper purpose behind your life. But now, as a follower of Christ, you are no longer living aimlessly. You now have purpose.

You understand that life on earth is brief—it’s just the beginning. The real purpose for which you were created is to reign with God and, ultimately, to experience eternal life with Him.

Now, as a new creation in Christ, you are called to live with intentionality—to fulfil the purpose God designed for you from the beginning. Your life has meaning, direction, and destiny. It’s not just about what you do, but about who you are becoming and how you reflect God’s glory through your actions, relationships, and choices.

Purpose: Reigning and Living with God Forever

As a Christian, you are empowered to live according to the kingdom purpose—to impact the world around you, to fulfil God’s will on earth, and to prepare for the ultimate destiny of eternal life with Him. Your purpose is to rule and reign with God, both now and in the life to come.

Remember, your life on earth is an entry point to a far greater purpose—eternal life with the One who created you. Through Jesus Christ, we are restored to our original design, and now we live for the eternal Kingdom, not just for temporary earthly pursuits.

Growing

Now That You Are Saved: Keeping Your Faith Alive

Being born again is just the beginning of your journey as a believer. It’s not the preacher’s responsibility, nor your church family’s job, to keep your faith alive—it’s yours. The Bible clearly instructs us to:

“Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.”

— Philippians 2:12-13 NIV

This passage highlights two key aspects of our Christian walk:

Continually work out your salvation: Salvation is not a one-time event, but a process that we work through with God. It involves obedience, growth, and a deepening relationship with Him. We are called to actively pursue this process of sanctification, which is being set apart for God's purposes.

Fear and trembling: This doesn't mean being terrified, but it refers to having a reverent respect and awe for God’s holiness. It’s an attitude of dependence on God and respect for His majesty, knowing that apart from Him, we can do nothing.

Trembling in this context is also a reflection of our humble recognition that we need God’s strength and guidance at all times. We cannot do this on our own; it’s only through His power that we grow in our faith.

The Goal of Sanctification

The ultimate goal of working out your salvation is sanctification—being set apart by God for His purpose. This process involves:

Obedience to God’s Word

Holiness in living out our faith

A surrendered heart to God’s will

Romans 12:1-2 urges us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, and not to be conformed to the patterns of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. This is the ongoing process of sanctification.

Psalm 2:11 says, “Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling.” In this verse, we are called to serve God with reverence and joy, holding both awe and gratitude in our hearts as we pursue Him.

Helpful Hints for Working Out Your Salvation

To stay on track in your walk with God, here are some practical tips to help you work out your salvation:

1. Stay Connected to a Bible-Believing Church

It is vital to be part of a church that preaches the Word of God with passion. This is where you’ll encounter the presence and power of God, receive encouragement, and grow in your faith weekly.

2. Join a Small Group or Bible Study

Small groups provide opportunities for deeper fellowship, prayer, and spiritual growth. They allow you to build relationships, encourage each other, and hold one another accountable in your walk with God.

3. Obey God and Resist the Devil

God has given you authority over the enemy. The Bible promises that “if you resist the devil, he will flee from you” (James 4:7). The power of the devil has been broken over your life, and the Holy Spirit within you is greater than any temptation or attack.

GET WATER BAPTIZED IMMEDIATELY

The Outward Expression of Inner Change

Baptism is a powerful public declaration of what has already taken place in the believer’s heart.

It represents a death to your old lifestyle and a commitment to a new life in Christ.

Just as a wedding ceremony publicly signifies the union between a husband and wife, baptism publicly identifies the believer with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection.

Jesus said in John 3:5, “Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” This is a clear instruction that baptism is essential for entering the kingdom of God.

Similarly, in Mark 16:16, Jesus says, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved.”

Delaying baptism can lead to missed opportunities. Just like the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8:36-37, who, after hearing the gospel, immediately asked, “See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?” He understood the urgency and responded with faith, declaring, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” This moment of faith and obedience is a powerful example to new converts.

Being Filled with the Holy Spirit

Salvation is not just about being rescued from sin; it’s about being empowered to live a victorious Christian life. The Holy Spirit, or the Holy Ghost, is the power of God given to believers to help them live out their new identity in Christ.

Jesus promised His disciples in Acts 1:8, “But you shall receive power…” This power is essential for living out the call to be a witness of Christ in the world.

In Acts 2:1-4, the early believers experienced the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. This same empowerment is available to you who believe. The Holy Spirit not only equips us to be witnesses but also transforms us to live according to God’s will and to overcome the spiritual battles we face. Baptism and being filled with the Holy Spirit are both essential aspects of the Christian journey.

4. Guard Your Heart

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” (Proverbs 4:23). Be careful not to let offence, bitterness, or unforgiveness take root in your heart. Keep your heart pure, and forgive as Christ forgave you.

5. Watch What You Say

Your words have the power of life and death (Proverbs 18:21). Speak words of faith, encouragement, and life. Be intentional about using your tongue to build others up rather than tear them down.

6. Watch What You Watch

The eye gate is the window to your soul. Be discerning about what you allow into your heart and mind. What you watch can influence your thoughts and behaviours, so choose content that edifies you and aligns with God’s values.

7. Watch Where You Go

Allow the Lord to lead you in the path of righteousness (Psalm 23:3). Be mindful of where you go and the situations you place yourself in. Avoid places or people that might lead you into temptation.

8. Watch Your Friends and Companions

“Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character.” (1 Corinthians 15:33). Be intentional about your relationships. Surround yourself with people who encourage you in your walk with God. Be cautious of negative influences that could lead you away from your faith.

9. Stop Sinning

If you continue to practise sin, it will hinder your relationship with God and the work of sanctification in your life. The Bible teaches that anyone who keeps on sinning is under the influence of the devil. Remember, Jesus has broken the power of sin over your life, and you have the power to live victoriously over sin.

Living in God's Purpose

It’s important to remember that your salvation is not just about getting to heaven; it’s about living with purpose here on earth. You are called to be a witness, to make disciples, and to represent Christ in your sphere of influence.

Work out your salvation, grow in your faith, and be diligent in pursuing God’s purpose for your life. The journey of sanctification is a process, but it’s a process that is well worth it. God is working in you to bring about His good purposes. Stay humble, stay connected, and stay committed to the journey.

A Final Word

Put on the Whole armour of God Every Day

As a believer in Christ, you are automatically enlisted in a spiritual battle. Whether you realize it or not, the moment you became born again, you became part of a spiritual war between the forces of good (God’s kingdom) and the forces of evil (Satan’s kingdom).

Paul encourages all believers in Ephesians 6:10-18 to "put on the whole armour of God" every day as a means of protection from the attacks of the enemy:

Ephesians 6:10-18 (NLT):

10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

11 Put on all of God’s armour so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.

12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armour so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armour of God’s righteousness.

15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.

16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.

17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

This passage clearly describes the spiritual armour God has provided for every believer, designed to protect us from the evil one and ensure that we stand firm in faith. Just as a soldier would never enter battle without their armour, we should never face the day without putting on the whole armour of God.

The Whole armour of God:

Helmet of Salvation

What it means: Salvation is the foundation of our faith. It’s what protects our minds and thoughts, reminding us that we are saved by God’s grace through faith.

Declaration: "I am saved by grace through faith. Jesus is my Saviour and my protector."

Belt of Truth

What it means: Truth holds everything together. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6), and His truth keeps us grounded in reality. This belt of truth helps us to stay aligned with God's Word, exposing the lies of the enemy.

Declaration: "Jesus is the truth, and His Word is my guide. I walk in the truth of God's promises."

Breastplate of Righteousness

What it means: As believers, we are righteous through Jesus Christ, not because of our works, but because He made us right with God. This righteousness protects our hearts from condemnation and guilt.

Declaration: "I am in right standing with God through Jesus Christ. His righteousness is my shield."

Shoes of Peace

What it means: The peace of God guards our hearts and minds (Philippians 4:7). As we walk in peace, we are prepared to share the Good News of the Gospel, which brings peace to others.

Declaration: "I walk in the peace that comes from the Good News of Jesus Christ. His peace guards my heart."

Shield of Faith

What it means: Faith is our defence against the fiery darts of the enemy, such as doubt, fear, and lies. As we hold up the shield of faith, we protect ourselves from the attacks of the devil and extinguish his lies and temptations.

Declaration: "I have full assurance in God’s promises. My faith is my shield against the enemy."

Sword of the Spirit (the Word of God)

What it means: The Word of God is our offensive weapon. Just as a sword is used to fight and defend, the Word of God empowers us to confront the enemy and stand on the promises of God.

Declaration: "The Word of God is my sword. I will use it to stand firm and speak truth over every situation."

Praying in the Spirit

What it means: Prayer is our communication with God, and praying in the Spirit means letting the Holy Spirit guide our prayers. Prayer is not just about asking for things but is a powerful weapon that invites God’s intervention in our lives.

Declaration: "I pray in the Spirit, listening to God’s guidance. My prayers are powerful and effective."

How to Put on the armour of God

1. Confess God’s Word Daily

Speak God’s promises over your life, your family, and your circumstances. Confession of the Word is how you put on each piece of armour and activate the protection God has provided for you. Declare the truth about who you are in Christ and stand firm in His promises.

2. Stay Alert and Be Persistent in Prayer

As Paul reminds us, we must stay alert and be persistent in prayer. Our enemy, the devil, seeks to destroy us, but prayer is our means of spiritual defence. Pray at all times, in every situation, and for all believers everywhere.

3. Live Out the armour Daily

The armour isn’t just something we “put on” in a moment of crisis—it’s something we live in every day. Every piece of armour is connected to a spiritual discipline (truth, righteousness, peace, faith, the Word, prayer) that we should actively pursue in our lives.

Stand Firm

When you wear the whole armour of God, you stand firm in the power and protection of God. No matter what challenges or attacks come your way, you are equipped to face them with God’s armour, and after the battle, you will still be standing firm (Ephesians 6:13).

Remember, the armour is not just for protection but also for victory. You are a warrior in God’s army, and He has given you everything you need to succeed in your spiritual battles.

Put on the whole armour of God each day, speak God’s Word over your life, and stay in constant prayer. God will fight for you, and you will be victorious.

Let Us Pray

Prayer of Thanksgiving

Heavenly Father,

I thank You for my new life in Christ. Thank You for saving me from myself, from hell, from death, and from the grave. I commit my life to knowing You and growing in a deeper relationship with You. Grant me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to grasp the depth of Your love.

Fill me with a passion for Your name—a passion to be Your disciple and to make disciples of others. Holy Spirit, come and fill me. Lead me, guide me, and teach me all truth.

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart always be pleasing in Your sight. Keep me from temptation and deliver me from all evil. Help me to discern what is from You, what is from the enemy, and what is from my flesh.

Teach me not to conform to the world’s ways, but to be transformed by the renewing of my mind. Help me to live a life that brings honour and glory to You.

Thank You for the many blessings of knowing You, and for making You both my Saviour and Lord. I surrender my heart to You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May God strengthen you in every area of your life, guide you through the challenges, and fill you with His wisdom and power. As you seek Him with all your heart, may you experience His love, peace, and direction in ways that transform every part of you.

Remember, you are never alone in this journey. The Holy Spirit is with you, empowering you and equipping you for the life God has called you to live. Keep pressing forward with faith, and trust that He will continue to shape you into the person He has destined you to be.

May your prayer of surrender be the foundation of every step you take with Him!
